Visit the land of the ancient Egyptians at West Park Museum. Travel down the Nile with Victorian explorer Marianne Brocklehurst, daughter of John Brocklehurst a Macclesfield Mill Owner. See the treasures she collected from her explorations of Egypt in the 19th century in this purpose built Museum. Alongside this renowned collection is our Local History display, including a selection of works by local artist Charles Tunnicliffe.

We are really pleased that a number of items from the Egyptian
collections were displayed as part of a major exhibition at Two
Temple Place in London January - April 2016, meaning that lots more
people have been able to see the fantastic objects which are cared for in
Macclesfield. Read more here

The Museum has a small shop stocking a selection of Egyptian items, Tunnicliffe items and information booklets on the Egyptian collection.

We've got lots of exciting events for 2017 - the first is Discover a WWI Soldier, Tuesday 21 February 2-4pm
