Saturday 1st June - Saturday 20th July In Summer 2013, embroidery expert Sue Rangeley brings her latest collection to the Silk Museum. Fashioned with Stitch explores a diversity of themes: botanical references intertwine with vintage fashion influences, while the heritage of the Silk Industry inspires innovative directions for Sue's embroidery. on display will be some new works, created especially for this solo show at the Silk Museum in Macclesfield.

On Saturday 1st June there will be a 'Meet the Artist' event, where Sue Rangeley will talk about the inspiration for her work and also share techniques.

On Saturday 20th July, Sue Rangeley will be hosting a workshop 'Sketch to Stitch'. This will be an opportunity for embroiderers to learn about Sue's techniques and explore the Museum's embroidery archives. The workshop will run 10am-4pm, the first half will explore the Museum's archives for inspiration and the second half will be focusing on the use of water solubles to create machine embroidered lace.

Children's Craft Clubs and Teenage Art Workshops:

Throughout 2013 the Macclesfield Silk Museums will be running a selection of Children's craft clubs and teenage art workshops. Each craft club and workshop is themed around a particular idea, our first craft clubs of 2013 were in February and were themed around 'Recycling'. Children used recycled materials to create new projects. In the Teenage Art Workshops students made bags and belts from recycled material.
